Contensive supports two editing modes, Workflow Authoring and Immediate Authoring. Immediate Authoring is the most basic, and will be what we describe here. With Immediate Authoring, when you make a change and hit save, the change shows up on your public site. With Workflow Authoring, Content Managers make changes and submit them. Content Managers and Administrators can review the changes on the public site, but the public stills sees the unedited content. Administrators can approve or abort changes, then publish them individually, or at a designated time.
Editing a Page
There are two ways to edit the content on a page, Quick Editing and normal editing. Quick editing is easy to find and use, and gives you access to the few most common elements of your page. You perform quick editing right on the public site. Normal editing gives you access to all the page features, but takes an extra step to reach.
After logging in, navigate to the page you wish to edit. In the tool bar at the bottom of the page, click 'Quick Edit' and hit apply. This will redraw your page with the Quick Editor in place of the content on your page.
With Quick Editing, you can edit your page text, or modify a few other common features. When you are done click "Save" to save your changes and leave the editor open, or click "OK" and save the changes and close the editor. Click "Cancel" to leave the editor and abort any change you have made.
The page name is used throughout the website for content managers to recognize the page in lists of pages. For instance, you may see a list of pages when making a link. The name you enter in he page name fields will appear in this list.
The page headline field is a convenient way to create uniform headlines through the site. You may choose instead to create your own headlines directly in the page copy using the editor tools. The page headline field makes sure all headlinees are uniform, and is an easy way for non-technical content managers to make headlines.
The page copy is the text that appear on the page. There are many tools available in the pge copy editor, but to get started, you can simply put the cursor in the editor and type.
Below the page copy are the child pages. Child pages are sub-pages that are associated with the current page. All pages can have child pages, including child pages. See the article on how pages are arranged in Contensive for more details.
