Multi-Step, Multi-Tier Workflow editing	With workflow authoring disabled, content managers edit, create and delete site copy in real time. Enabling workflow allows authors to edit and save without publishing to the live environment. Authors can be restricted to just change submission. Editors review the changes on the live site, in the actual position and form they will appear when published. Approved changes can be published one at a time, or in a batch.
Editor integrates site-wide resource management	The Contensive Resource Manager is a global repository for images, downloads and multimedia files. What's New Integration	Contensive Content Watch lists are a convenient way to produce lists like "What's New". You may have many different "What's New" lists for many sections or interests. Content manager add the content and simply check a box that includes the content in the list. They may also add an expiration for the checkbox. Then on the site, a link to the content is added to the What's New list.
What's Related Integration	Just as simple as a What's New list is the What's Related functionality. Content managers assign topics to the content as they add and modify it. A What's Related list on one page produces links to other pages with similar content topics automatically.
Multi-Language compatible	Multiple languages can be handled on the same page with Contensive Active Content. That means you only have to manage a single page, not multiple translations across multiple pages, or even multiple sites.
Full Text Search	Contensive includes multi-language compatible full text search integration. Search words or phrases across the content of your site, including your catalog or any other custom content you may add. Your site can be configured to return results from all languages, or just the visitor's language.
Integrated crawler monitors content changes and link status	The Contensive Content Spider, a web crawler, integrates tightly with the Contensive Content Manager. With the content spider, the text on your site is constantly scanned for changes, update the indexed data used by the Contensive full text search. That means you search not just managed data (database,  XML or flat file), but the copy as it appears on the HTML pages. As it crawls, it also tracks error like bad links on your site, and links on your site to other sites that are down.

Strong, multi-tier security privileges levels	Users, or visitors in a Contensive site are restricted by their member rights and group membership. Extensive online developer tools	Users with "Developer" rights assigned, have access to powerful Contensive online tools. Error Reporting and Recover	Error reporting is the one of the most neglected web application systems. Contensive has a built-in robust error detection and reporting system. Its goal is to block errors from visits, while gathering, logging and reporting everything developers need to resolve the issues. Industry standard XML data transfer support	With Contensive, developers have many data sharing options. Since Contensive uses industry standard, non-proprietary database formats, any direct to database transfer is compatible, like MS SQL Server XML interface. Contensive also includes built in export methods for both XML and ASCII formats.
XML to easily migrate development server changes to production	Contensive stores its site specific data structure in easy to understand, standard-based XML format, so a configuration on a staging server can be quickly and easily migrated to a production server.
Single Server Content Staging	You do not need multiple servers to stage content. Under Contensive Workflow editing, you make changes that can only been seen on the site by administrators and content managers. Simply check the "Render Workflow Changes" checkbox and you see what will be published.
Visit Properties	These values are maintained for each visit, or session, and can be created, read and written by site programmers. The next time someone returns to the site, their properties are restored.

They are available on any page of the site, and in the administrator's section of the admin site. They might be used for reusable code to customize features for different sites.
Topic Habits	As a visitor navigates your site and reads content, their interests are tracked by accumulating scores based on the topics associated to the pages they visit. These scores are available to measure their interests. For instance, you can easily have a list of products created that might interest a visitor based on topics associated with the products, and the visitors topic habits.
Child Page content hierarchy	Page content, what you think of as the copy on a page, can include a parent - child relationship to other page content. Child pages appear on the parent page as a lists of links, placed anywhere in the content. When clicked, visitors see the new copy.
