Association and Non-profit FAQ

Is there a way to have members only content?

With Contensive you can easily block any content page to limit who has access.  You can set up entire sections so that only the Members Group has access or on a page within that section you block it so that only the Board of Directors has access to the page.

There is even an add-on that can block certain parts of the page to members only.  As an example we have an association that "publicly" displays position statement, and only displays supporting documentation and links to "Members".

Our old system would only let us change certain parts of the page, how does yours work?

Contensive is a site wide management system.  You can control navigation, content pages, look and feel, access credentials practically everything on your site you have control over including style sheets and layouts.

We have a complicated join calculation can that be put online?

We have built out hundreds of join/renew applications that cover everything from dues pro-ration to complex calculations based on company size, location and revenue.  Your experienced development team will work with you to build out a join/renew form that works with your business model, and synchronizes with other databases if needed.

We use Constant Contact and managing databases is a problem do you have a tool to help?

The database in your web site is the database that we use for our email marketing tool.  It works just like Constant Contact except since it is associated to your web site not only can we tell you who opened the email and who clicked on the links, but which pages they visted and how long they spent on each page.

The web database can act as a stand-alone members DB or it can sync to your legacy AMS system if needed.  Or development team has worked with scores of AMS systems and we feel confident that we can work with yours as well.

Do you have ecommerce capability?

Contensive's eCommerce strategy has several components, the first is what we call "ProcPay".  Procpay is a prebuilt system that integrates with most of the major gateways including; Payflow Pro, Authorize.Net, YourPay, My Virtual Merchant, Sage and Paypal.  With the ProcPay settings in place you can add credit card processing to any form on your site such as donation forms, join/renew, PAC forms etc.  There are also standard add-ons that utilize the Procpay including CashRegister, Shopping Cart and MeetingSmart (online event and meeting registration).

Can I modify the source code?

The way Contensive is structured there is no need to modify the source code.  You can, however, modify any standard add-on or build your own add-ons using whatever language you want.  Please remember that if you modify a standard add-on it does mean that upgrading the add-on more difficult.

How many members can be in my database?

We have associations with as few as 24 members and some with over 300,000.  We have DB plans that will handle any association needs.
